ARCHITECTURAL ACOUSTIC DESIGN
Architectural Acoustics involves the development of proper aural environments that meet the needs and functions of a space. The issues include achieving suitable reverberation time, enhancing desirable sound reflections and maintaining and controlling proper loudness levels throughout the spaces. The design aspects range from room volume and geometry to the selection and placement of fi nish materials for walls, floors and ceilings.
BUILDING SOUND ISOLATION
This discipline focuses on keeping unwanted sound and vibration out of spaces. In complex structures, sound and vibration isolation must be considered from two perspectives: the exclusion of sound and vibration from sources external to the building, and the separation of noise-generating equipment, activities or functions from each other within the building.
MEP NOISE & VIBRATION CONTROL
This discipline focuses on keeping unwanted sound and vibration from buidling services and equipment out of spaces. Noise from fans can travel through the building ductwork and create an undesirable level of noise in spaces. Vibration from rotating equipment can be transferred into the structure of a building, travel long distances and be radiated as noise into rooms through light weight walls and ceilings. Many electrical devices create hum that is a tone that can be annoying to occupants. Our consultants analyze all of these potential sources for their impact on the sound criteria established for each of the program spaces.
AUDIO AND VIDEO SYSTEMS DESIGN
Audio and video system design is wide and varied in its scope. For over 40 years, Jaffe Holden's performance audio and video system designs for professional venues have coupled state-of-the-art performance audio and video systems to fl exible, user-friendly backstage and control systems. We believe the integration of acoustic design and audio system design is essential for the success of facilities that depend on both natural and amplified sound.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN
Jaffe Holden provides planning and infrastructure design, including drawings and specifications to handle these challenges. Our designs include all IT systems such as LAN (local area network) hardware, data communications systems for desk top and wireless computers including hook up to Internet and Intranet and storage systems.
