Museum of Westward Expansion

Saint Louis, MO
The Museum of Westward Expansion is the first phase of work implemented in the realization of the Saint Louis Gateway Competition. The existing exhibits in the museum will be replaced in their entirety by a new set of galleries. The museum plan is based on two types of permanent exhibition galleries offering different levels of involvement for the visitor. A narrative gallery will provide a general overview of themes reflecting the subject matter of the museum, and focus galleries will allow for a deeper exploration of those themes.
Jaffe Holden is developing new audio and video systems for the museum as well for the renovated ground floor of the Old Courthouse. The systems in the galleries and lobbies will engage visitors with integrated sound and visual components. Jaffe Holden is also providing A/V system design for a renovated auditorium, and outfitting classroom and conference rooms with interactive white boards complete with UBS speakers and video projectors.
